Speed, SEO and privacy
Speed
BlueTheme is built to load fast without extra plugins: every font, icon and script is on your own site, each builder element loads its CSS and scripts only on pages that use it, and pages are rendered on the server, so they show before any script runs. The demos score 90 or more in Google Lighthouse on phones.
Theme Options → Global → Performance has the switches:
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Lazy-load images and iframes | Images and embeds below the first screen load only as visitors scroll to them. Images loaded immediately keeps the first few (the logo, the hero) loading at once. |
| Preload the body font, Preload the logo | The browser fetches them first, so text and logo show sooner. |
| Minify the generated stylesheet, Inline small stylesheets | Smaller CSS, and fewer files to fetch. |
| Load builder element CSS/JS only where used | Keep this on. |
| Remove the WordPress emoji script, the oEmbed script, Dashicons for visitors, jQuery Migrate | Remove WordPress extras most sites don't need. Turn one back on if a plugin needs it. |
| Remove block library CSS on builder-only pages | Pages made only with BlueBuilder skip the block editor's stylesheet. |
| Disable features | Remove content types you don't use (Portfolio, Clients, Testimonials, Offers, Slides…). |
| Generated stylesheet → Regenerate now | Rebuilds the CSS made from your Theme Options, if a change doesn't show. |
Also helpful:
- A page cache plugin (such as WP Super Cache or LiteSpeed Cache) or your host's cache.
- Images in WebP, at the size they are shown.
- Fewer sliders and videos above the fold.
SEO
Theme Options → SEO:
- Meta tags: the page description for search results, Open Graph and X (Twitter) card tags (how links look when shared in Telegram, WhatsApp, X…), a Default share image, and pages search engines should skip (search results, archive pages after the first, attachment pages).
- Structured data: Schema.org data for the site (an organization or a person, its name and logo), the site search box, and article data on posts. The FAQ element can add FAQ data for its questions.
- Analytics & verification: a Google Analytics 4 ID, a Google Tag Manager ID, and Google Search Console and Bing verification codes.
If you install Yoast SEO, Rank Math, SEOPress or All in One SEO, the theme's meta tags and structured data turn off by themselves, so they are never printed twice.
The theme's HTML has one H1 per page, headings in order, breadcrumbs, and images with alternative text from the Media Library.
Privacy and the cookie notice
Theme Options → Global → GDPR / cookie notice adds a notice with Accept and Decline buttons, as a bar or a box.
- Wait for consent before loading Google Analytics / Tag Manager, and before your own scripts from Custom CSS & JS.
- Block external embeds (YouTube, Aparat, maps) until consent: embeds show a placeholder until the visitor accepts.
- Remember the choice for a number of days.
Without analytics, embeds or maps, the theme sends nothing to other servers. In the visitor's browser it keeps only small choices: the cookie notice answer and the posts they loved (as cookies), and their light or dark mode and which popups they have seen.
Accessibility
The theme follows WCAG 2.1 AA: menus, mega menus, sliders, tabs, accordions and popups work with the keyboard and screen readers; there is a "Skip to content" link; focus is always visible; colors in the demos meet contrast guidelines. When you change colors, check that text stays readable against its background. Sliders that play by themselves have a pause button, and animations stop for visitors who asked their device for less motion.
