Troubleshooting
The builder
The builder doesn't open, or keeps loading. The builder talks to WordPress through its REST API (/wp-json/).
- Check Tools → Site Health: a REST API problem shows there.
- Security and firewall plugins sometimes block the REST API, or
/wp-json/for logged-in users. Allow it. - Turn other plugins off one at a time to find one that breaks the page with a script error.
- On a slow host, the first opening can take a while; open the page again.
"Not saved. Check your connection and try again." Your login may have expired. Open the dashboard in another tab, log in again, and click Update once more. Your work is still in the builder.
I lost my changes. Open the page in the builder again: if an unsaved copy exists, click Restore it. Older saved versions are in the Revisions tab.
Changes don't show
- Empty your cache: the cache plugin's, your host's, and any CDN's.
- Reload the page with Ctrl+F5 (⌘+Shift+R on a Mac).
- Theme Options → Global → Performance → Regenerate now rebuilds the theme's CSS files.
- Make sure the folder
wp-content/uploadscan be written: the theme keeps its generated CSS inuploads/bluetheme/css/.
A header, footer or popup doesn't show.
- Check its display conditions in Template settings. A template without conditions shows nowhere.
- Another template of the same type may match the page more closely (one made for that page beats one for the entire site).
- The page's own Page Options may choose another header or footer, or none.
- A popup set to Only once or Once per visit won't open again in the same browser: try a private window. Check Do not open by itself on, too.
A mega menu doesn't show on phones. That's by design: phones show the item's normal submenu. Add the important links as sub-items too.
Demos
The import stops or fails. The import works in small steps, so it doesn't run into PHP's time limit. If it still stops:
- Check that
wp-content/uploadscan be written and has room (a demo needs 5–20 MB). - Raise PHP's
memory_limitto 256M if you can. - Click Stop the import, then remove the demo from the wizard's first step, and import again.
After the import, the shop shows no products. Go to Settings → Permalinks and click Save Changes. This rebuilds WordPress's addresses for the new shop page.
The demo's pages have "-2" in their addresses. Your site already had pages with the same address (such as shop or about). Rename or delete your old pages, then edit the demo's page address.
Language and dates
Dates are Gregorian on a Persian site. Check Theme Options → Global → Localization → Jalali (Shamsi) dates. If WP-Parsidate or Persian WooCommerce is active, they handle dates and the theme leaves them alone: check their settings.
Some texts stay in English on a Persian site. Texts from other plugins come from those plugins' translations. The theme's own texts can be changed in Theme Options → Translate.
Digits in an input field are Persian and the form rejects them. The theme keeps Latin digits in form fields. If a plugin shows Persian digits there, check its own settings.
Maps and videos
A map stays grey or empty. Map tiles come from OpenStreetMap's servers. If they are slow or blocked for your visitors, choose another tile server in Theme Options → Global → Addons & integrations, or use Map Basic with an embed code from another map service.
A video or map shows a placeholder. With the cookie notice set to Block external embeds until consent, embeds wait until the visitor accepts.
Updates and installation
The theme upload fails. Your host's upload limit is too small: ask for 16 MB or more, or upload the bluetheme folder by FTP into wp-content/themes/.
No updates show. Check Theme Options → Global → License & updates → License status. Without an active license, update by uploading the new zip.
Getting help
Before asking for help, note:
- The BlueTheme version (Appearance → Themes), and your WordPress and PHP versions (Tools → Site Health → Info).
- The plugins you use.
- What you did, what you expected, and what happened, with a screenshot.
